Town of Kratovo

Known locally as the "Town of Towers & Bridges", Kratovo is in the northeastern quadrant of Macedonia. There are approximately 10,500 inhabitants and is situated at the bottom of an ancient crater. It served as an important mining town throughout the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires. It is an understatement to say history looms large in Kratovo as the town is peppered with architectural reminders of those epochs.
